FOUR Ayr United stars have been shortlisted for Scottish Women’s Football Awards.

After more than a thousand nominations from the public, the quartet made the finals of a number of categories.

The winners are to be announced at a ceremony on November 30 at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Sarah Tait has been shortlisted for SWFL Player of the Year, alongside Katie Hay (Armadale Ladies), Claire Hutton (Dunipace) and Alex Davie (Dunfermline Athletic).

Lauren Johnstone is up for SWFL Coach of the Year, alongside Jamie Williamson (Armadale Thistle), Stuart Wood (Inverurie Locos) and David Gaw (Kilwinning FA).

Barclays Championship Player of the Year could be won by Ayr star Clare Docherty, who will battle it out against Megan Whiteford, Jemma McQuillan (both Rossvale) and Brodie Rigby Wilson (East Fife).

Craig Potter has been shortlisted for Barclays Championship and League One Coach of the Year, and will be up against Rossvale's Julie McSherry and Jack Cameron of Stenhousemuir.

Ayr United Women won promotion to the second tier of Scottish football earlier this summer after defeating Glasgow Women in a play-off.
