THE winners of this year's Girvan Golf Classic Competition 2024 have been announced.

More than 80 amateur golfers took part in the prestigious competition, which ran from September 27-29.

The event was open to amateur male and female golfers, including juniors, who hold a recognised handicap index.

The winner of the Div 1 handicap (0-13.9) Ailsa Shield was Jim McCusker of Troon St Meddans with a score of 192. The runner-up, with a score of 195, was Ian Torrance of Largs Golf Club.

(Image: Golf South Ayrshire) The winner of the Div 2 handicap (14-28) Maggie Milligan Trophy was Brian Boyd of Maybole with a score of 190. Daniel Bryson of Ayr Seafield was runner-up, with a score of 194.

The scratch competition and the Carrick Herald Quaich winner was Steven Stamper of Turnberry Golf Club with a score of 196. The runner-up, with a score of 202, was Liam James of Lee Park.
