A star amateur striker is making a move up to junior football with Whitletts Victoria.

Kane Howarth is moving from the club's amateur side to the junior setup following an impressive two seasons.

The announcement was made hours after he scored a hat-trick in a 6-2 victory over Stewarton Annick in the Ayrshire Amateur Premiership.

A club spokesperson said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank Kane Howarth for the last two seasons and his hat-trick today.

"Kane has been massive player and will be tough to replace but he leaves with our best wishes."

The club's manager said: "Kane shows the player pathway we are creating at Whitletts. We have created a platform where players can go up the levels if that’s what they are looking to do.

"That being said, Kane has been top scorer in both my seasons in charge, and a massive part of our success so far.

"He leaves with my best wishes and the same for our full team."
