Whitletts Victoria AFC scored four goals in the opening 25 minutes to send them on their way to victory against Stewarton Annick in a high-scoring clash in the Ayrshire Amateur Premiership.

Played on the Astroturf of the Rose Reilly Sports Centre in East Ayrshire, Vics almost got off to the worst possible start when Stewarton's George Thomson was played through on goal after just 30 seconds, but Steven McMillan was equal to the shot.

However, Whitletts were ahead just five minutes later as star man Kane Howarth finished off a superb breakaway by scoring the first goal of his hat-trick.

It was all Vics as they searched for a second goal, and it came after 16 minutes when Howarth had a shot parried by the Stewarton goalkeeper, and Sam McFall was able to stroke the ball home into an empty net.

Howarth got his second and Whitletts' third just a minute later, when he stole in to score after hesitation from the Stewarton rearguard.

A neat one-two then allowed Joseph White to score a fourth against the stunned home side, putting Whitletts firmly in command of the match.

Stewarton rallied towards the end of the half and Sam Lochhead finished well from just inside the box, before George Thomson turned in a second after the ball broke loose from a corner, to half the deficit heading in at the break.

The second half swung from one end to another without too many clear cut chances for either side.

Whitletts eventually made the home side pay with two goals to finish off the scoring. Howarth claimed his hat-trick when he finished off a ruthless counter attack, before Craig Hall capped off the win ten minutes from time.

Whitletts currently sit third in the table with six points from three games, with Stewarton still searching for their first win of the campaign.
