The opener sees a field of eight take on the restricted maiden stakes, a race open only to two-year-old runners.
The Tim Easterby-trained Lunar Force sets the standard to kick off the card, third of nine in a Beverley maiden last time out when turned out quickly after another third at Catterick previously.
Farandaway was a promising second on debut at Newcastle eight days ago and rates the chief threat for trainer Grant Tuer.
Race two on the card (6.42pm) is an eight-runner handicap over the five furlong distance, with preference heading the way of Parisiac, who ran below par for new trainer Ian Jardine three weeks ago but has the cheekpieces re-applied here and does have a bit of fork behind him with a second at Nottingham last month.
Of his rivals, course and distance scorer Zuffolo is the big danger.
A field of 12 will tackle the one mile and two furlong handicap in class five at 7.12pm to mark race three of the evening. The Rebecca Menzies-trained Helter Skelter holds leading claims here, a strong second of seven in an Ayr handicap last month and has hit the frame twice in three starts at this track so clearly likes the place.
Tilsitt can give him something to think about of a career-low mark and is a previous course and distance winner.
Two thriving horses look set to take each other on in race four of Ayr’s card at 7.42pm in the 15-runner class six handicap over six furlongs.
Stormy Pearl for trainer David Thompson is in great nick having won her last two starts and bids for a hat trick here while the equally in from Eternal Sunshine, trained by Jim Goldie, arrives on a four-timer, most recently winning over this course and distance 19 days ago in a very tough race to call between these two leading candidates.
Race five of the evening (8.15pm) can go the way of Sir Garfield, who arrives at Ayr on an upward curve having scored at Catterick in July and finishing runner-up in a 14-runner contest at Redcar last time out.
The Lucinda Russell-trained John L Sullivan rates the main danger, a disappointing fourth last time out at Hamilton but was a winner over a mile back in June and could be worth chancing again.
Finally, the card comes to a close with the 13-runner classified stakes at 8.45, with preference in the finale heading the way of Millibuie for trainer Ewan Whillians, a good second of five at Hamilton 28 days ago on his last spin who has cheekpieces fitted for the first time this weekend to aid getting over the line in first.
