Another July Monday means another meeting at Ayr as the track hosts a six-race card to kick off the new week.

Racing gets underway at 2.30pm with a class five apprentice handicap to kick the card off before coming to a close at 5.25pm as seven runners take on the class five handicap over a mile.

The opener (2.30pm) sees a field of seven head to the start for the one mile and five furlong apprentice handicap in class five.

It’s All About You is expected to be right in the mix, having finished third in a Pontefract handicap a fortnight ago, and has some consistent form behind him, while five-time course winner Ayr Poet cannot be discounted for trainer Jim Goldie, stepping markedly up in trip here.

Race two on the card (3.05pm) sees some up and coming youngsters and newcomers take to the track for the five furlong maiden stakes in class four.

Managing Director, for trainer Bryan Smart, should be there or thereabouts, having improved to finish third on his second start in a 13-runner contest at Beverley last time out, but will face strong opposition from Hammer The Hammer, a €200,000 purchase as a two-year-old who was fourth on debut at Doncaster 11 days ago and improvement is expected here from the Kevin Ryan-trained runner.

A field of eight will head to the stalls to tackle race three on the Ayr card - a five furlong contest in class six for the three-year-old’s (3.40pm).

Course and distance winner Pinpoint is the pick here; he was a winner at Ayr in April, and has cheekpieces on for the first time aiming to bounce back from a below-par eight in a Carlisle handicap on his last spin.

Of his rivals, La Boo for trainer Mick Easterby rates the chief threat, heading back in the right direction when fourth of ten in a handicap at Redcar last month.

The Jim Goldie-trained Eternal Sunshine bids for a hat-trick in race four (4.15pm) having won at Catterick and at Ayr in her last two starts so another very bold showing is likely here from the four-year-old with jockey Paul Mulrennan on board.

Last week's course and distance runner up Ramon Di Loria can give her the most to worry about in this six furlong contest in class six.

A large field of 13 will head to the start for the penultimate race on the Monday card - a seven furlong handicap in class six for horses aged three and older (4.50pm).

Another Goldie runner, Braes Of Doune, is anticipated to go well having been knocking on the door this summer and is taken to resume winning ways here.

Another course and distance runner up, Concert Boy, should be there or thereabouts again for Scottish trainer Katie Scott, without a win since 2023 but showed improved form to finish second here last time around.

Finally, the card comes to a close with the one mile handicap in class five and seven runners are set to take it on at 5.25pm.

Preference in the finale heads to Helter Skelter for trainer Rebecca Menzies, arriving at Ayr on a pair of runner-up efforts including a very good second at Hamilton nine days ago.
