The Honest Men take on Jim Goodwin's Dundee United in a vital clash that could have a big impact on who finishes top of the group stage league table.
Ayr sit fourth in Group B, having only played one match so far, Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Falkirk at Somerset Park - though they're tied with Stenhousemuir, Dundee United and the Bairns on both points and goal difference.
Falkirk had defeated Dundee United 2-0 in their own opening group game on July 13.
Tuesday night's result saw Scott Brown's men continue their positive pre-season form, with the Falkirk game following on from an impressive 3-2 friendly win over Kilmarnock on July 11.
Captain Anton Dowds scored the only goal of the game on Tuesday.
Tickets for the game are on sale now at dundeeunitedfc.co.uk/tickets/away-club-online-ticket-hub.
Away supporters will be housed in the Carling West Stand at Tannadice on Saturday.
The game kicks off at 5.15pm and will be shown live on Premier Sports.
Ayr's remaining group stage ties are away to Stenhousemuir on Tuesday, July 23 (KO 7.45pm), and at home to Buckie Thistle on Saturday, July 27 (KO 3pm).
Brown's men get their Championship campaign under way against Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park on August 3.
