AYR United's Championship fixture list for the 2024-25 season has been revealed.

The SPFL published full details of all the new season's fixtures across the Premiership, Championship, League 1 and League 2 on Thursday morning.

Scott Brown's men open their campaign against newly-promoted Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park on Saturday, August 3.

The first home fixture for the Honest Men will be played in front of BBC Scotland's TV cameras when Airdrieonians come to Somerset Park on Friday, August 9.

And in line with the practice in previous seasons, the final round of Championship fixtures in 2024-25 will also be played on a Friday night, with Airdrieonians again providing the opposition on Friday, May 2.

The Championship fixture list features two rounds of scheduled midweek fixtures, one in October and one in February, with the Honest Men hosting Hamilton Accies in the former and travelling to Hampden to take on Queen's Park in the latter.

The fixture list was revealed on the day Ayr prepare for their first pre-season friendly, against East Stirlingshire at the Falkirk Stadium tonight (June 27).

Ayr's two showpiece friendly fixtures in the build-up to the new campaign will see Celtic visit Somerset Park on July 5 for the official opening of the ground's new North Stand, before Kilmarnock come to town for an Ayrshire derby clash on Thursday, July 11.

A further friendly fixture is scheduled for Tuesday, July 2, when Scott Brown takes his squad to K Park to face Lowland League champions East Kilbride.

But the competitive action for the Honest Men kicks off on Tuesday, July 16, with Ayr's first Premier Sports Cup group stage tie at home to Falkirk (KO 7.45pm).

Ayr's other Premier Sports Cup ties are away to Dundee United (Saturday, July 20, KO 5.15pm), away to Stenhousemuir (Tuesday, July 23 at 7.45pm) and at home to Highland League champions Buckie Thistle (Saturday, July 27 at 3pm).
