AYR United are inviting local football fans to their annual family open day at Somerset Park this weekend.

Supporters of all ages will find plenty of entertainment from 12 noon onwards on Saturday, June 29.

Players from both the men’s and women’s first teams will be in attendance for photos and autographs, and there will be a chance to compete with and against your favourite players in a variety of sporting challenges in the car park.

In addition, Duncan Carmichael will give two presentations in the new North Stand on the history of Somerset Park itself, ahead of the new stand’s official opening in a glamour friendly against Celtic on July 5.

The afternoon will also feature a host of stalls and attractions including fairground rides, face painting, a bouncy castle and vehicles from the local emergency services.

Stallholders on the day will include Ayrshire Cancer Support, Whiteley’s Retreat and the 6 Scots Army Reserves, while sponsors Caledonia Vehicle Solutions, Wyre, The Bullish Coffee Company, Mancini’s and Majestic Wine will be there too.

A club spokesperson said: “Entry is free and we will of course be welcoming along the main attraction, Pandamonium as well as opening our very own Cameron's Bar for refreshments which can hopefully be enjoyed in our beer garden.

“The club shop will be open for the duration where you can pick up the all-new O'Neills merchandise, including the newly released Ayr United away kit and training wear.”

Meanwhile, the club has also announced details of its annual sponsorship draw, taking place in the new Ally MacLeod Hospitality Suite next week, when businesses and individuals will have the chance to have their name on the club’s commemorative bespoke third kit during 2024-25.

Five lucky ticket holders will be hoping to see their name drawn to be displayed on the front, sleeve or shorts of the new third kit, as well as on the shorts of the home or away kit.

The list of prizes also includes a ‘boardroom experience’ for two people at a match of the winner’s choice during 2024-25, and match hospitality for four, again at a game of the winner’s choice.

Tickets cost £300 for one, £500 for two or £700 for three, including VAT.

The draw will take place on Wednesday, July 3 from 6.30pm onwards and will be hosted by the club’s newly-appointed media consultant, well-known TV presenter and commentator Rob MacLean.
