AYR United have announced the departure of midfielder Olly Pendlebury - just two months after the midfielder moved to Somerset Park.
The club said the former England youth captain had asked to be released from his contract only nine weeks after moving to Ayrshire from English National League side Aldershot Town.
The news was announced in a brief statement released on the club's social media channels, where a spokesperson said: "The club has confirmed it has reluctantly accepted Olly Pendlebury's request to be released from his contract with Ayr United due to personal circumstances.
"We wish Olly every success with his future career."
The 21-year-old moved to Ayr from the English fifth-tier outfit in June, having previously played for Farnborough, Woking and Wycombe Wanderers.
Ayr have already announced the signings of two midfielders in the past seven days, with the arrival of Jack Young from Tranmere Rovers on Friday followed by the addition of former Albanian under-21 international Roy Syla from Brentford.
The signings of Young and Syla come after Ayr were hit by a double injury blow, with Andy Murdoch and Ben Dempsey both set to undergo surgery on knee injuries.
Winger Jamie Murphy is also expected to be out until mid-September after suffering a contact injury in training.
