HOLDERS Auchinleck Talbot will begin their defence of the Indigo Communications West of Scotland Cup with a trip to Inverclyde to face Port Glasgow.
The draw for the first two rounds of the 2023-24 tournament were made at the weekend and saw Talbot given a bye in the first round and a trip to Parklea in the second.
The draw for the competition also threw up some intriguing all-Ayrshire ties, with Scottish Junior Cup winners Cumnock facing a first round tie at home to Troon for the right to host Girvan in round two.
There’s also guaranteed to be an all-Ayrshire second round tie at Victoria Park after Irvine Vics were handed a second round tie at home to either Dalry Thistle or Glenafton Athletic, while the first round fixtures will also see Maybole, newly promoted to the First Division, travel to Rosebank Park to face Lugar.
Premier Division champions Beith start their cup bid at home to Benburb in round one, with the winners playing host to either Glasgow United or Arthurlie.
Largs Thistle could be set to welcome big-spending Johnstone Burgh to Barrfields - if they can see off Wishaw in round one and the Keanie Park side can get past West of Scotland Football League new boys Knightswood FC.
Irvine Meadow will travel to St Peters in round two, while Kilwinning Rangers will host Renfrew in the first round after the two sides arrived in the First Division from different directions, Frew winning the Second Division championship while Buffs took the drop from the top flight.
Runners-up Clydebank – who lost 2-0 to Sloan’s men in the 2022-23 final at Meadow Park in April – will begin with a home tie in the second round against St Anthony’s after also receiving a round one bye.
