Girvan manager Matt Maley hailed his side’s character as they bounced back from an 8-1 defeat to beat Bellshill Athletic 2-1 at the weekend.
The seasiders fell to a heavy defeat in their last league game against Lesmahagow and with postponements in recent weeks were left for weeks to stew on the result.
They finally were back in Conference A action on Saturday for the first time in three weeks at Rockburn Park.
It looked as if they may be destined for back to back defeats when they fell 1-0 down early on against the Gow.
However, goals from Jordan Lynch and Mark Curragh saw the Seasiders back to winning ways.
Speaking to the Advertiser, Maley said: “It does play in the back of your mind that the last game was an 8-1 doing.
“But we had been working hard to build the confidence back up in training with the players we had available.
“So, yeah it was a great bounce back and hopefully we can go onto Muirkirk this weekend and keep this little run going.
“We have three games to go and we need to maximise them.”
