Ayr Roads Cycling Club members were in competitive action once again at the weekend as they took part in the Battle of the Bing cyclocross race .
The event at Broxburn United Sports Club returned for its fourth instalment this year, with two open men’s races and, for the first time, one open women’s race.
Both open men’s races ran for 50 minutes, whilst the open women’s race ran for 40 minutes.
Ayr Roads had two members at Broxburn competing in the men’s and women’s events.
Club captain Aileen Fisher continued her good run of form with a second place finish in the veteran 50 women’s category.
Her racing on the day also earned her a spot in the top 20 overall as she finished 19th.
Meanwhile Aileen’s son, Iain Fisher, was also in action competing in the senior male A race.
He came in at 54th place to cap off the club’s first competitive outing of 2022.
Other members of Ayr Roads paid their annual New Year visit to the club hut based near Colmonell.
