Ayr Roads Cycling Club/Harry Fairbairn were represented by five riders in the RGCX Cyclocross race at Rouken Glen park in Glasgow at the weekend.
The riders were met with cold conditions and for the first time this season a light dusting of snow over the course.
Captain Aileen Fisher, despite feeling poorly, was third over the line in the female over 50’s category.
Her son Iain Fisher’s day was less satisfactory having to retire from the Men’s A race due to complications with his footwear.
Also in the Men’s A race was recent Scottish Hill Climb champion Rory Webster, who also had a difficult day and was forced to retire.
Ayr’s only finisher in the A race was Fraser Tait, in the Veteran 50 male category, who put in a strong ride to finish sixth in the category and 39th overall.
In the B Race, club stalwart, Alexander McAllister, finished fourth in the Veterans 60 category and 40th Overall.
Elsewhere at the club over the weekend, six riders met up for a tough training run round North Ayrshire.
