TWO Prestwick bowling aces will hope to steer Scotland to glory in a prestigious home nations event in September.
Reigning Scottish Under-21 bowling champion Darren Weir (18) and his older brother Andrew (21) have again been selected to fly the flag for Scotland in the Under-25s Home Internationals, which are being held at Belmont Bowling Club in Belfast on September and 9.
Once again they will be joined in the team by Christopher Carswell from Kilwinning BC, his cousin, Blair Davidson of Blacklands BC in Kilwinning and Craig Burns from Hurlford.
Darren, who won the Under-21 Singles title earlier this year, is relishing the challenge as Scotland take on the hosts and England and Wales.
The team will be captained by Troon's Paul Foster, the five-time World Indoor Bowling champion, who won a gold and silver medal at the Commonwealth Games on Australia's Gold Coast.
Darren said: "We won it last year for what I think was the first time in seven or eight years so hopefully we can do it again."
