PLANS have been lodged to build five homes on vacant land in Coylton.
Brian Jordan has submitted an application for planning permission in principal to South Ayrshire Council for the development.
Each property would be two storeys in height, and contain three or four bedrooms alongside the A70.
The site was previously granted planning permission for six plots, with one home already built, but consent has now lapsed for the remainder of the plots.
Each property will have a driveway suitable for two vehicles, and alterations to paving and road kerbs will be required to provide level access to driveways.
Ecological and endangered animal surveys may be required if a full planning application is lodged.
The plans state that there may be potential local job creation when building work commences.
The proposal adds: "New housing available for people in the local area or those who are looking to return.
"Local business benefit from workers during the build phase and additional home owners and their families contributing to local business and community projects.
"Potential temporary disruption to the A70 during building works as main utilities are connected from the main under road."
The full plans can be viewed on South Ayrshire Council's planning portal with reference 24/00864/PPP.
