PRESTWICK Airport has issued a reminder over the issue of drones following several incidents at US airbases in England.
Drone incursions have been reported at three US airbases – RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, and RAF Feltwell in Norfolk.
These took place between November 20-22 last month, and the aircraft have since reappeared around the facilities.
According to the BBC, it was also claimed a US Air Force KC-46A Pegasus air refuelling aircraft was diverted to Prestwick as it approached RAF Mildenhall due to drone activity.
Neither the airport or the US Air Force would comment on the claims.
A Prestwick Airport spokesperson said: "It's illegal to fly drones near Prestwick Airport. The No Drone Zone extends for 5km around the airport to protect aircraft, passengers, and crew. Stay safe and follow the rules!"
