TWO alleged thieves are said to have broken into an Ayr flat and made off with a bag containing 'unknown items'.
Lee Galloway and Connor Cuthill pleaded not guilty to entering the Ross Street property occupied by a man named in the charge on February 4 last year.
The Crown's indictment claims that 36-year-old Galloway and Cuthill, aged 31, stole a bag containing 'unknown items' from the address.
Both denied the alleged offence when they appeared for a pre-trial first diet hearing on November 27 at Ayr Sheriff Court.
Cuthill's solicitor Colin McLaughlin told the court his client appeared from custody on other matters.
Procurator fiscal depute Craig Wainwright told Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart the Crown would be calling one civilian witness and three police officers, as well as one of two forensic scientists.
Bail was continued for both accused, of Ross Street, Ayr and Wellington Drive, Monkton, respectively, with both returning to custody.
The pair are set to return to court to face the charge again at a later date.
