THE refurbishment of Prestwick Leisure Club has reached an "important milestone" after three months of works.
The facility closed on August 17 this year to allow building improvement works to take place.
When the facility on Bellevue Road reopens in the spring of 2025, it will boast a new roof, new exterior wall cladding and an innovative air handling ventilation system.
The building will also have an increased water supply along with improved water storage, and its green credentials will also receive a boost thanks to the installation of solar panels.
South Ayrshire Council says work has now reached an important point, with a temporary roof fully constructed.
A spokesperson said: "You may have noticed that Prestwick Leisure Club has changed its look!
"We’ve reached an important milestone and the facility is now fully covered allowing roof and internal works to carry on throughout the winter. We can’t wait to welcome you back in spring 2025!"
Throughout the works, club fitness members are able to access the gym and pool at the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr.
Troon Leisure Club and Maybole Leisure Club are also accessible during the closure, as both these facilities can be used as part of the standard membership.
Customers who attended classes at Prestwick Leisure Club have the option to upgrade their membership, so they can access fitness classes running at the Citadel.
