FERRY services between Troon and Brodick have been cancelled on Thursday after the MV Alfred suffered a gearbox problem.
CalMac confirmed on Thursday morning that the catamaran, leased to the company from Pentland Ferries, would be out of action for Thursday, December 28 at least.
The company added: "Contractors have been arranged to attend the vessel and an update on the progress of repairs will be provided at approximately 2pm."
The service between Ardrossan Harbour and Brodick is running as planned.
