SOUTH Ayrshire Council has won a 'prestigious' prize at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s (CIH) Scotland Housing Awards 2024.
The council's 'Your Choice Lettings and Property Management' service was recognised for 'Excellence in the Private Rented Sector' at the ceremony on Friday, November 8.
This service, established in 2021, aims to connect private landlords and tenants, focusing on security, quality, and affordability.
The approach has helped strengthen relationships between the council, landlords, and tenants, and has played a role in preventing homelessness within the private rented sector.
Councillor Martin Kilbride, buildings, housing, and environment portfolio holder for South Ayrshire Council, said: "Congratulations to our housing policy and strategy team, this is a fantastic achievement, and I couldn’t be more proud of them.
"The team are going that extra mile to provide quality affordable housing that meets the needs of tenants, while working closely with landlords to provide the best accommodation possible.
"Congratulations to everyone involved in making this award a reality."
The awards recognise remarkable teams and professionals who show a strong commitment to the housing sector, providing essential services and support to communities across the country.
All 102 shortlisted entries for the Scotland Housing Awards are featured in the CIH 2024 Good Practice Compendium.
This showcases the latest in good practice and provides inspiration, ideas, and innovation to help professionals and tenants collaborate toward a future where everyone has a place to call home.
