TRAVELLERS are being warned to allow extra time at Prestwick Airport as upgrade works begin.
From November 21 until mid-January next year, the airport is carrying out essential upgrades to its security area.
Passengers are being urged to follow the guidelines to help make their journey through the airport as seamless as possible.
An airport spokesperson said: "These works are designed to replace security equipment and improve your travel experience.
"During this time, there may be some changes to the usual process, so please allow extra time for security.
"Liquids must be 100ml or less, in a clear, sealable bag, and removed from your luggage.
"Electronics such as laptops and tablets should be removed from bags for separate screening.
"We appreciate your patience as we work to make your journey smoother in the future."
