ENFORCEMENT patrols are being carried out across South Ayrshire following a surge in dog waste being left.
South Ayrshire Council says an increasing amount of dog waste is being discarded on footpaths and public areas in the region.
To help keep the local areas clean and tidy, enforcement patrols are being carried out, and anyone caught may be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £80 if they don’t pick up their pet's mess.
A council spokesperson said: "Please put your bagged waste into any public waste bin or green bin at home.
"If you have concerns about dog fouling in a particular area, please contact Trading Standards and Environmental Health on 0300 123 0900 or email environmental.health@south-ayrshire.gov.uk."
