FOUR Ayrshire towns have been named among the most affordable in the UK.
Cumnock in East Ayrshire is Britain's most affordable town according to property site Zoopla.
In Cumnock, the average house price stands at just 1.1 times the typical household income, making it the most affordable place for property ownership in the UK.
In Cumnock, property values average around £80,300, which is significantly lower than the UK average of £267,500.
Girvan, Saltcoats and Ardrossan also feature in the top five in the UK, where home prices are all below 1.3 times the typical household income.
To pinpoint affordability hotspots across the UK, Zoopla’s analysis considered local earnings in relation to house prices.
