AN AYR chippy is frying high after being honoured at the prestigious Scottish Fish and Chip Awards.
Reel Plaice opened near the shorefront at Bath Place earlier this year, taking over the former Waverley Cafe premises.
The chippy is the brainchild of Jo Goudie, who ran the popular The Plaice to Be in Kilmarnock for many years.
The award-winning takeaway even welcomed Andi Peters from Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, with the shop and its customers featuring on the show live.
Now, just five months after opening in Ayr, the eatery was highly recommended for its customer service at the national awards ceremony.
Jo said: "As you can imagine it came as a surprise to be considered since we have not long opened our doors five months ago.
"Thanks to all my customers for your support and to anyone who managed to vote in the very short time between knowing we were nominated and the votes closing.
"Your business means so much to us. We promise to keep producing the finest/freshest quality food to ensure all our customers continue to be more than satisfied.
"You are what makes our business a success! So thank you!"
