A MAN has been found dead at a beach in Ayr, Police Scotland have confirmed.
A mass emergency response was prompted at Greenan beach shortly after 11.30am on Wednesday, November 13, when the male's body was discovered.
Eyewitnesses stated that several Police Scotland vehicles attended the scene, alongside Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.
What is understood to be a Coastguard helicopter was also present, with flight maps showing the aircraft circling the area for around half an hour.
Police Scotland have since confirmed that a man was found dead and that there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 11.40am on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the body of a man was discovered on a beach near Dunure Road, Ayr.
“Enquiries are ongoing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A Scottish Ambulance spokesperson added: “We received a call at 11.44am today to attend an incident in Ayr. We dispatched one ambulance and our special operations team to the scene.”
