A SOUTH Ayrshire business has been celebrated at the 25th VIBES Scottish Environment Business Awards.

We Hae Meat Ltd, based at Cairnhill Farm near Girvan, took home the Energy Transition Scotland Award at the ceremony.

The award celebrates those who have set out clear objectives to engage with and adopt energy saving measures, installations and activities.

Alex Paton, co-founder of We Hae Meat, said: "It is an honour to receive this award as a fantastic acknowledgement of our commitment to sustainability initiatives which are at the core of our business."

The company was founded in 2007 by husband and wife Alex and Carlyn Paton, and has won numerous awards over the years.

Last year, the company claimed the Green Family Business of the Year and Scottish Family Business of the Year awards at The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards.

We Hae Meat’s full range is available in major grocery retailers across Scotland, including Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Co-op and Iceland.

Back in September, the butcher announced the launch of a selected range of their products in Sainsbury's Scottish stores.

The exciting partnership marked a significant milestone for the brand, making its products even more accessible to customers across the country.

Craig Chalmers, commercial manager at We Hae Meat, said: "We are delighted to have won a supply contract with Sainsbury's to bring our increasingly popular products to more customers across Scotland.

"We have worked closely with the regional buying team on this launch and are delighted to see some of our top selling products available at Sainsbury’s stores.

"This partnership aligns with our mission to provide consumers with great quality products at outstanding value."
