A MAN is due to stand trial next year charged with raping a woman in Troon and attacking another in Glasgow.
James Clacher, 56, is accused of carrying out the violent sexual assaults in 2019 and 2020.
The first is said to have occurred in South Ayrshire, with prosecutors claiming that the alleged victim was pushed onto a bed and pinned down.
The second alleged sex attack is said to have happened near Glasgow's Gorbals area.
The complainer is also said to have been pinned down and, among the other accusations on the charge, Clacher reportedly struggled and shouted at her.
The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow today (Friday, November 8) where his lawyer Janice Green pleaded not guilty on his behalf.
Lady Drummond went on to schedule a trial set to begin in August 2025.
The case could last around seven days.
