A MUCH-LOVED Prestwick pub that closed down in 2022 is set to be reopened under new management.
Central Bar, which is more than 100-years-old, will be revived after being closed for more than two years.
The historic Prestwick establishment has been bought by Future Griffith Holdings and will now be extensively restored.
This will be the first time in more than 50 years that the business has not been under brewery ownership.
As part of the restoration, the Main Street premises will be taken back to its roots as a 'no frills' venue that focuses on drinks.
It will also have DJs, live music, and karaoke.
Earlier this year, the bar was on the market for offers over £210,000, or for rental offers over £20,000 per annum.
A statement on social media from Shoot Soccer and The Central said: "We would like to thank Greene King Retailing for everything they have done in making the transaction possible and for passing over the torch which will allow us to make the venue the beating heart of the Prestwick town Centre once again.
"Follow our journey and re-opening timeline at The Central."
