THE numbers of the iconic Waverley's 2024 sailing season have been revealed. 

The paddle steamer is now berthed in Glasgow ahead of a million-pound refit following a year where it carried 159,572 passengers around the UK.

Waverley Excursions has now revealed some of the other impressive numbers behind the vessel's latest year on the water.

Across 125 sailing days, Waverley welcomed passengers from 4 countries, and the ship berthed at 67 ports and piers throughout the UK.

The Dining Saloon served 9,375 portions of fish and chips, along with 27,310 cups of coffee and 24,769 cups of tea.

The year also saw staff greet 1,027 canine companions, 4,878 young passengers as part of its Kids for £1 promotion and 15,096 passengers from Glasgow on one of the 71 trips up and down the River Clyde.
