A RARE opportunity to get in the cab of a diesel locomotive has opened up.
As part of one of Ayrshire's most historic attractions, Doon Valley Railway (DVR) in Dunaskin near Patna is offering the public the chance to get hands-on with the controls of the vehicle.
Operated by volunteers of the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group, DVR recently celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, with a jam-packed day of events and rides on the steam locomotive.
