MORE than £60,000 has been raised ahead of a unique fundraising run at Prestwick Airport.
The airport is holding a Run the Runway event on November 2, which will raise money for The Beatson Cancer Charity, Doing It For Daniel Foundation and Ayrshire Hospice.
A target of £100,000 has been set as a fundraising goal, with hundreds of runners set to pound the runway in a 5k or 10k.
An airport spokesperson said: "We are thrilled to announce that so far, our amazing participants and supporters have raised an incredible £61,982 for Run the Runway at Prestwick Airport.
"With only two weeks left until race day, we’re getting closer to our ambitious £100,000 target - but we still need your help to get there.
"Every pound raised will go towards supporting vital cancer charities, making a real difference for families who need it most.
"Let’s make these last two weeks count and hit that £100,000 target together! We can't wait to see you all on the runway on November 2!"
