A NEW digital e-card version of the Scotland Loves Local South Ayrshire Gift Card has been launched.

Shoppers can now select a digital e-card version of the South Ayrshire Gift Card, which will be emailed directly to the recipient, and can be added to digital wallets using the Love Local app.

The South Ayrshire Gift Card was first introduced in October 2021 and since then, over £478,000 of South Ayrshire Gift Cards have been sold and distributed in the area.

Over 200 local businesses are part of the initiative, from bespoke independent retailers to restaurants, beauty salons, leisure facilities and much more.

Scotland Loves Local is the national initiative delivered by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP), designed to encourage consumers to think local first.

Councillor Bob Pollock, portfolio holder for economic development, said: “The South Ayrshire Gift Card continues to go from strength to strength, with more businesses benefiting and more people choosing our local gift card to keep spend in South Ayrshire.

“The move to digital enhances convenience for individuals looking to give the gift of local quickly and increases accessibility for those who prefer to pay using their mobile phones.

"In turn this makes it much easier for everyone to support local businesses. It’s also the perfect time as we approach the festive season!”
