AN AYR holiday park has apologised after food purchased by a family was labelled as "an absolute disgrace".
Calum Kennedy, owner of Joannas Chippy Van, ordered £30 worth of food at Craig Tara, but took to social media to slam the company for what he received.
His pictures of the fish, sausage and chips attracted more than 500 comments from disgusted users online.
He said: "Small businesses like us would get absolutely hammered if we sent food like this out or if we make a small mistake etc.
"But you get big companies like Haven Craig Tara, who can send food like this out and charge an absolute fortune for it while sending I don’t even know what this is.
"Fish and a sausage supper tonight we ordered at our caravan. This is an absolute disgrace to our industry.
"Safe to say we’re heading into Ayr now for a ‘Reel’ chippy from somewhere we know will use fresh produce and serve an edible meal."
A spokesperson from Haven Craig Tara said: "We pride ourselves on providing guests with a fantastic holiday experience and offer guests a range of dining and takeaway options to suit their taste.
"We apologise to Mr Kennedy that on this occasion, his meal did not meet our usual high standards.
"As soon as we were notified of his complaint, he was immediately offered a full refund.”
