A man who shouted and swore at his wife after 'repeatedly poking her’ when both were binge drinking in Maybole later called the cops 'paedophiles' while resisting arrest.
Kevin Torbet pleaded guilty to a domestic-aggravated charge of threatening or abusive behaviour - after a row began when he 'pestered her' with offers to make food during a drinking session.
The 39-year-old admitted shouting and swearing at his partner and then police at his address in Coral Glen and en route to Kilmarnock Police office on September 28 this year.
He admitted struggling with them and calling them 'paedophiles', after his better half had to phone police when he repeatedly 'poked her' and asked if she 'wanted food' before shouting and swearing.
The Procurator Fiscal depute said: "The accused and complainer were at the locus on the date libelled, they were drinking during the course of the day.
"He wouldn't leave her alone and pestered her asking if she wanted food, not accepting she wanted to sleep. He then continued to poke the complainer.
"Thereafter started shouting and swearing, calling her a 'whore', 'bitch', and accusing her of cheating.
"The complainer contacted police about the accused's behaviour and police attended."
The court was told Torbet continued shouting over the 999 call. The complainer went outside to await police and was seen to be "visibly shaking".
The depute fiscal added: "He was advised he was under arrest and became especially aggressive and started shouting and swearing, calling them 'b*****d c***s' and 'f***ing paedophiles'.
"In the police van, he banged his head and continued shouting and swearing. After arriving in the custody suite his behaviour was very up or down. He was cautioned and charged and made no reply."
Defence solicitor Quentin Muir said: "The complainer had been in touch, hoping I could magic away the prosecution.
"She relocated here from Coventry and been has agitated. He is married to the lady and tenants of the local authority and on Universal Credit. My information is both are binge drinkers, not drinking alcohol all the time. It was a remarkable quantity.
"He was asking the lady if she wanted food and became fed up.
"She later called police in the hope that call would bring him to his senses, but he was too far gone. He is ashamed of that and apologises. He tells me he hasn't had a drink since."
"He has no previous convictions and nothing else outstanding."
Sheriff David Nicolson deferred sentence for six months for Torbet to show good behaviour over that time.
He will return to court next year.
