SCOUTS in Troon have paid tribute to a former leader who passed away earlier this year.
On Saturday, September 14, the 28th Ayrshire (Troon) Scout Group welcomed the Mathieson family to officially dedicate the newly installed memorial to the late David Mathieson.
David was Troon's group Scout leader from 1985 until 2019, and the Scouts decided to install a memorial rock, calling him the "rock of the group".
A spokesperson added: "Thirty-four years in the role of group Scout leader will never be surpassed.
"This memoriam is a permanent tribute to a lifetime dedicated to Scouting."
