DONALD Trump's Turnberry resort on the South Ayrshire coast saw its profits soar in 2023.
The former US president took over at the venue back in 2014, with the rebranded and refurbished Trump Turnberry relaunched in 2016 following a £200million investment.
It now appears that the work is paying dividends with the resort posting a pre-tax profit for the second consecutive financial year.
Golf Recreation Scotland, the parent company that covers SLC Turnberry, published their most recent accounts earlier this month - showing profit of £3.8m in 2023.
This is a significant rise from the £186,261 reported in the previous year, which was the first profit posted since the resort was taken over by the Trump family.
Total revenue generated by the resort throughout the year exceeded £21m for a second straight year - driven by a 35 per cent growth in golf sales and steady increase in membership as well as spa and recreation activity revenue.
The organisation was responsible for employing 446 people over the year, increased from 2022, with all but 13 working as resort staff.
Staff costs throughout this period amounted to more than £9.6m, a slight rise year on year.
The company director is currently Eric Trump, son of Donald, who took on the role when his father resigned following his prior election as US President.
In his directors report, he commented: "Trump Turnberry sustained its strong performance from 2022, generating total revenues exceeding £21 million for the second consecutive year.
"Highlights included growing golf revenues by 35 per cent over 2022 and driving incremental membership, spa and recreation activity revenue.
"Trump Turnberry continues to be recognised as Scotland's premier destination for luxury travel.
"Continual investment from the owners in the resort, and in particular the championship golf courses, will ensure our continued growth into 2024 onwards in the luxury market."
