A POPULAR Prestwick takeaway has expressed its delight after taking home a prestigious national award.

Spice Cube was named one of the winners in the Best Takeaway Category at this year's Curry Life Awards.

The awards were announced at a glittering event on October 13 at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in Mayfair.

Speaking after the ceremony, owner Sheikh Nadeem said: "We’re thrilled to have won this award - it will really help to raise the profile of the business and attract more customers to our takeaway.

The awards event is an annual celebration of British curry houses, which have an annual turnover of more than £4 billion.
