A SECOND person has died following a fatal crash on the A77 near Monkton almost a fortnight ago.
The incident happened at around 2.25pm on Thursday, October 3, approximately half a mile south of the Dutch House Roundabout, and involved two vehicles, a silver Mercedes A200 and a red Renault Captur.
The driver and passenger of the Renault Captur, an 82-year-old man and an 84-year-old woman respectively, were taken to hospital.
The man died in hospital on Sunday, October 6, while police confirmed that the woman also passed away today (Tuesday, October 15).
Sergeant Martin Cunningham of Irvine Road Policing said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the two people who died at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch if you can assist.
“If you were driving in the area and have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please contact us."
