THE A77 south of Girvan has now reopened following an earlier road traffic collision.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Lendalfoot following reports of a lorry overturning on Tuesday morning.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A77 between Girvan and Ballantrae is open.
"The lorry involved in the crash is still to be removed . There may be a further road closure when the lorry is uplifted. We will keep you informed."
The Girvan RNLI lifeboat was also called out to the scene just before 9.30am on Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson said: "This morning at 9.24am our volunteer crew were paged to launch our all-weather lifeboat to attend the scene of an RTC south of Girvan to conduct a waterside search.
"As our crew had already assembled at the station and were getting kitted up, the launch was cancelled as the casualty had been located and was being cared for by the medical teams on site."
