A PLANNED race night to raise funds to benefit the lifesaving work of Girvan RNLI has been cancelled.

The event was due to be held on Saturday, November 2 at Henrietta Street Hall, with a night of racing, light snacks and a licenced bar.

However, the RNLI has now confirmed that the night has been cancelled due to a lack of tickets sold.

A Girvan RNLI spokesperson said: "Unfortunately we are cancelling the scheduled race night on November 2.

"Ticket sales are low so we feel that it wouldn’t be viable to continue. Apologies to those that have bought tickets. Please message us to arrange a refund."
