A POPULAR venue in Drongan has applied for permission for a building extension.

Since taking over the building in 2019, Ryan McCubbin has set about transforming The Boolers into a Drongan favourite, which has become a real pillar in the community.

The popular spot, which also included a fully-fitted gym area, was one of the main reasons that the recent D In The Park event was held, as well as past fun days in Drongan.

Building on that success and popularity, an application has been submitted to East Ayrshire Council for an extension to the venue.

On top of this, a separate extension would incorporate a new space for the gym, as well as an extension for the new lounge area.

A ramp entrance would also be built at the side of the lounge area.

Plans were submitted to the council this week, with a decision expected by around the beginning of December.
