A THRIVING Ayr pakora business admits they were "deeply honoured" to be shortlisted at a national awards ceremony.
Punjab Pakora, based in Crown Street, were named as finalists in the Scottish Food and Drink Excellence Awards for their cauliflower bites with tomato and mint dip.
Although the business was not successful in the 'Snacks & Accompaniments Product of the Year' category, its owners say they loved the big night out.
A spokesperson said: "We are deeply honoured to have been named finalists, standing alongside some of Scotland’s most innovative businesses.
"It was incredible to be part of a night that truly celebrated the heart and soul of Scotland’s food and drink industry.
"It’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of community, and we loved reconnecting with both new and long-standing clients.
"The evening was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen those relationships and share in the collective excitement for what lies ahead.
"Most importantly, to our incredible Punjab Pakora team - you are the ones who make it all possible.
"Every day, you strive to create exciting new experiences for our customers, and your hard work and passion truly shone through on this special night. We couldn’t have done it without you!
"We’re already looking forward to next year, with even more exciting products on the horizon, and can’t wait to try the new Scottish innovations we received from the event."
Punjab Pakora was founded by Vinita and Kushal Duggal in 2013, after the pair moved to Scotland in 2004, settling in Prestwick before moving to Alloway.
Earlier this year, the firm's plans to establish a new pakora factory in Ayr were given the green light.
A planning application was lodged with South Ayrshire Council for a factory on the Heathfield Industrial Estate.
Punjab Pakora's goods are distributed to major retailers including Aldi, Sainsbury's and Iceland.
The business currently employs 42 people but a move to a permanent facility would see the workforce double as the business approaches its 10th year operating in Ayr.
