MP ALAN Gemmell has praised staff and pupils at a Troon school for their passion for Fairtrade.
Youngsters from Struthers Primary School wrote to the Central Ayrshire Labour MP to ask him to support the movement.
Mr Gemmell praised them for their efforts in the House of Commons, and says he will now champion the cause.
He said: "I regularly meet and hear from teachers whose passion and dedication is palpable, including Mrs Boyd and Mrs McKay, the primary six teachers at Struthers Primary School in Troon.
"Twenty-one of those pupils have sent me individual letters asking me to join the Fairtrade campaign to be the change."
Fairtrade is about better prices, safe working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers.
