AN AYR nursery has received a glowing review after an inspection in July.
Heads of Ayr Nursery was rated "good" in all areas of a recent Education Scotland report.
The inspectors praised the "warm, nurturing ethos" and the "positive relationships" between staff and children.
They noted that these factors contribute to the children being "happy, confident, and showing kindness towards each other".
The nursery is located in a purpose-built facility with two playrooms and a large outdoor area, and provides 1,140 hours of early learning and childcare to children across 50 weeks of the year.
The nursery has 13 early years practitioners, and currently has 90 children on the roll.
Children have access to a large, fenced outdoor area, and are encouraged to engage in a wide range of play opportunities.
Inspectors highlighted the nursery's commitment to the children's rights and the positive atmosphere, where children "feel safe and know they are valued".
The inspection found that staff use effective observation to inform future learning and identify progress made.
Children are involved in planning their own learning, and parents are encouraged to contribute information on their children's achievements at home.
The inspectors noted that the staff know the children well and provide appropriate praise and encouragement to help them achieve.
The nursery supports children's progress in identified developmental milestones, with data showing that most children have made strong progress over the last two years.
However, a couple of areas for improvement were identified, including developing approaches to planning to ensure they are responsive to children’s interests and getting practitioners to explore how they can involve children more fully in planning for and reflecting on their learning.
Nursery manager Kerri Miller said: "We are thrilled to announce that our recent HMIE Inspection report has been published, and we are proud to share that we have been rated 'good'.
"This outcome is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and passion demonstrated by our entire team.
"Their dedication has been instrumental in driving our progress, ensuring that the children in our care benefit from a nurturing and enriching environment that sets a strong foundation for their future learning and development.
"We are excited about the future and the opportunities it holds for our children and families."
