SOUTH Ayrshire Council has been nominated for a top award for one of its services.
Their 'Your Choice Lettings and Property Management' service is a finalist in the prestigious 'Excellence in the Private Rented Sector' category at the CIH Housing Awards 2024.
The service, which launched in 2021, connects private landlords and tenants, similar to a commercial lettings agency, but with a focus on security, quality, and affordability.
Councillor Martin Kilbride, buildings, housing, and environment portfolio holder, said: "Over the past three years, Your Choice has gone that extra mile to develop strong and supportive relationships between the council, landlords, and tenants.
"Understanding the needs of each of our tenants and offering them alternative housing options is key to preventing homelessness in the Private Rented Sector.
"This is great recognition for a very important service, and I wish the team all the best at the finals."
