TWO Girvan thugs who injured a pair of Austrian tourists in a vicious city centre assault were jailed yesterday for a total of 35 months.
Haris Ali, 32, and Adam Scholes, 30, pounced on the pair in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street on May 5, 2022.
Scholes initially argued with one of the men - who was in the city with his colleague on a work conference - which turned violent.
Ali meantime struck the other male on the face before he was pulled away from the scene by his friend.
Ali, Scholes and co-accused Morgan Leggat, 23, later ambushed another man leaving him with a facial fracture.
The trio, all of Girvan, pleaded guilty to assaulting the latter victim to his severe injury.

Ali also admitted assaulting one of the Austrian men to his injury while Scholes pleaded guilty to the attack on the other male to his severe injury.
Sheriff Andrew McIntyre placed Leggat on a community payback order at yesterday's sentencing.
He was ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid work and was placed under supervision for a year.
Leggat was also tagged for 12 months and told to pay his victim £3,000 in compensation.
Glasgow Sheriff Court earlier heard the Austrian men were on a night out before they went to a takeaway when they came across Scholes.
Prosecutor Sean Docherty said: "Scholes engaged in an argument and punched [the victim] to the nose which resulted in a nasal fracture.
"Ali then hit [the other victim] to the face resulting in his glasses falling off as well as swelling to his head."
The men moved away from the scene and took refuge in a nearby pub.
The hearing was told that 20 minutes later, Ali, Scholes and Leggat set upon the other complainer who was getting a takeaway.
Mr Docherty said: "[The victim] was punched to the head then kicked to the body and face by all three."
The trio fled the scene while a taxi was flagged down which took the injured man to hospital.
He was later treated for a fracture to the right side of his face and a wound to the top of his head which required two staples.
The three attackers were traced in May 2022 and arrested.
It was revealed that Ali and Scholes have previous convictions while Legatt is a first offender.
Ali was jailed for 15 months while Scholes was sentenced to 20 months.
