A MAYBOLE man is charged with leaving an alleged knife attack victim with lifelong scars after a reported stabbing in the town last year.
Steven Warnock pleaded not guilty to an indictment charge of serious assault and another of allegedly possessing a blade when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court this week.
The 40-year-old is alleged to have assaulted a man by striking him on the body with a knife on May 28 last year at a lane in Minnoch Crescent.
The Crown's indictment states that the alleged attack was to the man's 'injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of his life'.
Warnock faces a second charge of carrying a bladed or sharply pointed article, namely a knife.
He pleaded not guilty when he appeared for a brief pre-trial first diet hearing at the court on Wednesday, October 2, with his solicitor stating that the defence were ready for trial.
Bail was continued for Warnock, of Minnoch Crescent, and he will return to face the allegations at a later date.
