AN AYR veteran has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Soldiering On Awards 2024.

In a few weeks, Chris Shaw and his business The Gen Dit Network will be celebrated at a black-tie event in London, hosted by broadcaster Jeremy Vine.

Chris is one of three finalists in the Business Start-Up Award category, with the winner set to be announced on October 16.

The Soldiering On Awards, now in its 14th year, is an unparalleled programme that recognises outstanding achievement in the Armed Forces community.

When Chris left the Royal Marines, he focused all his energy on networking and establishing meaningful relationships outside the military with veterans already employed.

Like any selfless Marine, Chris then thought about his colleagues coming through the same process and wanted to help make sure that the power of the network he had made for himself was available to others, and The Gen Dit Network was born.

The business focusses on 'empowering service personnel, veterans, and those in transition to easily access remarkable opportunities'.

Soldiering On Awards CEO, Lt Col Ren Kapur MBE said: “Year after year, the individuals and organisations nominated for the Soldiering On Awards never cease to inspire, which makes shortlisting finalists an incredibly challenging task.

"The awards are crucial for spotlighting remarkable stories and ensuring inspirational achievements receive both local and national recognition.”
