RAF Prestwick said farewell to Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Al Quin in October 2004. After two years leading their air traffic control, he left aboard a tank for a new post in Shropshire.

The 1st Alloway Boys’ Brigade Company marked their 25th Anniversary with a Silver Jubilee Dinner in the Bellisle Country House Hotel. The honour of cutting the jubilee cake fell to Liam Mathieson, 13, as current BB Captain Stewart Robertson and Founder Captain Ronnie Breingan looked on.

October 2004 saw the conclusion of year-long celebrations to mark Annbank Primary School’s Centenary Year. The school planted a time capsule to commemorate the occasion and these P5 pupils gave a talk entitled ‘School - Past, Present and Future’.
